I wonder what European and American National
Socialists would think of the fact that their conspiracy about “Jewish”, or even “Israeli”, workers being forewarned of
the 9/11 attacks was actually started by Hezbollah’s Al Manar network?
Actually, that wouldn’t bother them. They have a lot in common with the
Islamists – and not only Jew-hatred (e.g., totalitarianism, hatred of
capitalism, conspiracies about the platonic Media and much else, anti-Americanism, the glorification
of violence, machismo, a Manichean world-view, racism towards blacks, love of
war, leader-fixations, etc.) . And any source for backing-up and strengthening an
already-existing Judeophobia, even if it came from brown people, would of
course have been welcomed by the Nazis.
After the Hezbollah network advanced this
conspiracy theory on September the 17th (six days after the attack), it soon
spread to, yes, you guessed it, other Middle Eastern (Muslim) news services.
And from there to the West – primarily to Nationalist Socialist and International
Socialist conspiracy news sources; and even some others too.
That’s how the story was spread. But what were
the origins of this story? (Sometimes conspiracy theories don’t have evidential
origins as such; they just appear out of the conspiracy theorist’s hat.) Of all
things, it was the Jerusalem Post’s
Internet edition that was partly responsible (in a way).
The story had it that the Israeli foreign
ministry had gathered the names of four thousand Jews thought to have been in
the vicinity of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on the morning of
September 11. The problem for the conspiracy theorists (facts or lack of facts aren’t
often a problem for most of them) was that this bit of information-gathering,
by the Israelis, occurred after the 9/11
attacks, not before.
Consequently, it is one small step in
Hezbollah’s mind, and, later, in the minds of Middle Eastern (Muslim) news
agencies, and even later than that, amongst Western Leftist and Nazi conspiracy
theorists, that the Israeli information-gathering occurred before, not after, the attack. It’s almost certainly the case that some
- or many - Hezbollah journalists and conspiracy theorists actually knew this;
but that didn’t matter to them.
One other thing changed, eventually, after
the original Hezbollah report. Hezbollah first talked about four thousands
“Israelis”. That became four thousand “Jews”. It is of course ridiculous to
think that there were thought to be four thousands Israelis in the WTC. Why
would so many Israelis have been there in the first place? A hundred tops. But
four thousand? (Five Israelis were actually killed on that day.) And if they
were Israelis, why were they working in the US anyway? Of course some Israelis
will work in New York; but four thousand - all in the same building?
Here again we find that unfortunate mistake
that Muslims, as well as Nazis, sometimes intentionally make: getting Israelis
mixed up with Jews. There may well have been four thousand Jews working in the World Trade Center. Nonetheless, I bet that
many of them had never been to Israel. Some may never have even given Israel
much thought. Indeed others would have been Leftist or Left-Liberal Jews who were
very unhappy with Israel. Nevertheless, none of that would have mattered to the
Nazis or, for that matter, to many Muslims.
The final blow to this conspiracy theory,
however, is that between 270 and 400 Jews did die on 9/11. And, incidentally, 5
Israelis died too.
So why not fit the Jews or Israelis in some
other way?
This time Middle Eastern (Muslim) conspiracy
theorists were to blame. .. oh, I’ve already forgot, they were to blame for the
conspiracy theory I’ve just mentioned too. In this case, then, it was basically
the same conspiracy theorists with a different conspiracy theory. However, it
still included the Jews and Israelis.
Middle Eastern (Muslim) websites claimed
that it was Mossad which was behind the attacks; or Israel generally. Maybe it
was. The thing is that we have a “cry wolf” situation here; at least when it
comes to Muslims and what they say about these things. What I mean is that
every time Muslims carry out a terrorist attack in the West, and sometimes elsewhere,
many Muslims blame Israel, or Mossad, or the Jews, for it. I don’t mean in the
sense of the Islamoterrorist attacks being a response to Israeli or Jewish “policies”.
I mean that Muslims actually believe that the Jews/Israelis actually did it. Hell,
Muslims even blame Jews or Israelis when it comes to natural disasters too!
Major General Hamid Gul, the ex-chief of
Pakistan’s ISI secret intelligence agency, got in on this act. As I said
earlier, the Nazis are propagating a theory that was partly spread by a Muslim
major who was directly responsibility for the deaths of many Western soldiers
and even, indirectly, for numerous terrorist outrages throughout the world. (Gul
was a strong supporter, funder and trainer of the Taliban.)
On September 14, Major General Hamid Gul
was reported, in Newsweek, as saying
that “Mossad and its American associates are the obvious culprits”. He asked: “Who
benefits from the crime?”
You will find that there is a lot of
indecision among Muslims as to whether it is Israel that is in control of
America or vice versa. Some Muslims believe the former and others the latter.
However, some Muslims believe both! That is, it depends on the propagandistic
effect they are trying to pull off. In one situation, maybe it’s best to claim
that Israel wags the dog. On another occasion, it’s America. Despite that,
sometimes in the same context or situation both claims are made and often by
the same Muslims. That is, Israel is both wagger and wagged. Nonetheless, as I said,
these mutual contradictions don’t matter one bit if the prime imperative at
work is to destroy Israel and the Jews.
Major General Hamid Gul went for the option
of Israel being the boss. Or, more accurately, this is a tale about Israel trying
to be America’s boss but not always getting its way. As a result, as
conspiracy theory has it, Israel punished America with 9/11. Gul said that “the
Israelis don’t want to see any power in Washington unless it’s subservient to
their interests”. Yet despite the then frequent Muslim, and Leftist, hype about Bush being
Israel’s “poodle”, Gul went on to say that “President Bush ha[d] not been
subservient” to Israel. The idea that a huge power like America would be “subservient”
to Israel is of course ridiculous – even if America and Israel share so much…. (Then
again, the Nazis believe in both the Super Race and in Supermen. And that Super
Race and those Supermen are none other than the Jews themselves – not a Super
Race and Supermen by their own lights, but by the lights of Nazis!)
The Jews, not the Israelis, were smuggled
into the general hotchpotch of conspiracy theories about 9/11 in other ways
too. Muslim theorists also claimed that the “Elders of Zion” were responsible.
That was a finger being pointed away from the Israelis specifically and
towards, yes, you guessed it, the Jews as a whole.
A more mundane, but still Jew-related,
theory was that Mossad knew beforehand about the impeding attack but failed to
pass on the information. What? Not even to save the “four thousand Israelis” in
the WTC? Unless we can fuse two conspiracy theories into one here: the one
about the “Israelis” being forewarned and Mossad not passing on the info.
Problem is, these conspiracy theories had different sources and aetiologies and
it’s likely that those responsible for one may not have been aware of the other
– at least not when the two conspiracy theories originally went viral, as it
were. After the fact, of course, these two theories could indeed have been
fused. And no doubt they have been.
